In Cambodia, there is a museum with hundreds of black and white photos of innocent citizens, documented just before execution. I wanted to explore the use of art as a means of recognizing the value of people who were cast away. I hope to honour them by capturing the defiance in their eyes as they faced death and expressing their intrinsic value through a glow of colour that communicates their worth.
